The Two Faces of Sakaria Romaccio/ Welcome 2012

Hello everyone! I figured that I'd bring 2011 to a close with a new picture!

When Sakia was left behind on Earth, she was forced to use a mixture to temporarily alter some of her DNA so that she could appear human. Not that she minded, though, considering that she likes the humans more than her own race, the Qi.

Now, time for my commemoration of this year which is about to pass!

It is hard to believe that 2011 is almost over already, with less than an hour to go! It seems to me that it was just yesterday that I was watching 2010: The Year We Made Contact to celebrate the title year, and that was two years ago, nonetheless! But, all in all, 2011 has been a fairly productive year for me; I have learned cartooning, let alone how to use the basics of Gimp, I have done plenty of reading and writing, and I have shared some marvelous memories with my friends and family. And I look forward to doing all of this the coming year, and more!

So, without further ado, I give you my informal list of New Year's Resolutions and ambitions:

1.) Attempt to get one of my works published. Yes people, I don't just sit here and type blog entries all day (though I must say, I do my share of that); I actually have enough to patience to commit myself to other projects!

2.) Manage my stress better - don't we all want to do that?

3.) Be a nicer person. Yes, believe it or not, I do have my flaws!

4.) Work some more on my cartooning and animations.

5.) I'll think of something later, I'm sure!

So, I now bring this fairly succinct and non-eloquent blog post to a close, as well as this year. I wish you all a happy and successful 2012!

"If You Saw Me..."

Just a little something that I made. :)

Yixillian thinking to herself what the person she cared the most about would do if they saw her somewhere else, say, on another planet. I know, it's sort of a stupid concept when I phrase it like that, but, whatever...

Sandrin Prentice Model Edit

I wasn't very pleased with Sandrin's model, so I went back and changed it. So... yeah.

New model.

Old model.

Oh, and new poster! :)

Sakia: Shadow Arsonist

Hi everyone! First off, Happy Festivus! I'm afraid that I haven't had the time to compile my Airing of Grievances, though...

Anyways, here is my latest composition! To prevent any confusion, allow me to explain. I may or may not have mentioned in the past that Sakia's race, the Qi, have the ability to transfer their consciousness back and forth from their shadows and physical bodies at will, so that, in the case that their bodies are mortally wounded, they may permanently seek residence inside of their shadow forms. Apparently, they can use these shadows of theirs for other purposes as well, though I have yet to devise them.

So, yeah, Sakia's showing off her shadow abilities. :)

I apologize for my bad blending with the shadows; I was rather tired, and didn't feel like expending any more energy than I had to. ;)

A song that I associate with this particular picture (not because of the lyrics, mainly just the feeling that it gives me).

Again, Happy Festivus everyone, and Happy Holidays!!!

New Sakia Picture

Hi everyone! Just a new picture of Sakia that I'm rather fond of. I tried a new style of shading which is a little less harsh than the way that I usually do it, so... yeah.

London Blitz Painting

Hi everyone! I'm baaaaaack! And with a new artistic media (no, it has not replaced cartooning; this is merely a one-time thing)!

I have never been very good with painting, but then again, I've never really tried. However, I was willing to make an exception this time. I had a really neat dream about the London Blitz a week ago, except with a little bit more steampunk than in actuality. ;) So, I wanted a way to communicate the feelings that this dream had given me, and I took a couple hours to paint it today. I'm rather pleased with the result, but would never go as far as to say that it is exceptional; I am certainly no da Vinci!

So, without further ado, London Blitz! :)

The colors look different between the two pictures because they were taken with two different cameras.

I have also attached some videos from YouTube of a couple songs which go with the feeling of my dream/painting, in my opinion at least.

"Contention City"
Calexico

"Like Spinning Plates (Live)"
Radiohead

"Clockwork Anatomy"

Just something I did once for a project; creating a band name (Clockwork Anatomy) and an album name ("Creepy Physics"), then making a cover for the imagined album. So, yeah, here it is.

I, of course, found the background image from a website and integrated it into my composition, but I am too lazy to site the source at present.

Also, I must mention a correction to QiMIGA's ID which I have previously posted; I stated that she had a severe inferiority complex. That is incorrect. I really ment superiority complex.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

No! Harry Morgan died today! Most of you probably don't know who he is, so for all of you who are not familiar with the show M*A*S*H, he played Colonel Sherman T. Potter. Now I recommend that you go out and watch all eleven seasons; it's an excellent show! May you rest in peace, Harry Morgan! :(

A tribute someone made of Colonel Potter's best insults... yeah...

"All I Need"-Yixillian

Hey everyone! Just a little traditional project I did, matching a scene to lyrics from a song, in this case, "All I Need" by Radiohead. I have done this before with several characters for my own enjoyment, but have yet to post them on this blog. Anyways, for now, my most recent appendage.

Yixillian's second, more often suppressed personality finds herself mortified with the heinous actions of her dominant, psychopathic manifestation, and feels that she is an unworthy and despicable creature. Thus, the Frankenstein quote was added for emphasis. If you cannot read it clearly, it says: "All men hate the wretched; how then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things". The lyrical excerpt reads: "...I'm just an insect, Trying to get out of the dark..."

"All I Need" by Radiohead
(In my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever made)

Before I conclude this post, I'd like to quickly apologize for posting so many of my cartoons; I'll try to make a post about something different next time. So, please, bear with me. :)
