IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

Hey guys! Thanks for being so patient!

Anyways, I'll get straight to the point; I'm no longer posting on this blog. HOWEVER, I have been, and will continue to post any new artwork on my deviantART account (link). So, please feel free to check it out. Thanks for everything; you guys are wonderful, and it's been an interesting ride!

A Bunch of Stuff

I'll go in chronological order, starting with newest.

By the way, that's Sakia and Robert roleplaying as Christine and the Phantom from (well, duh) "The Phantom of the Opera".

The Opera Ghost

Hi again everyone! I know, more Phantom of the Opera fan art... but this one actually, in my opinion, turned out good. So, yeah. Oh, and by the way, I took a little liberty and gave Erik (the Phantom) David Tennant hair. XD And if you don't know who David Tennant is, Google him.

The original sketch, which I actually think is pretty cool, but that's just me.

Self Portrait, Self-Improvement/Icarus

Hi again everyone! It's that time again; self portrait time! Yay!!!! So, yeah, here's my latest attempt, which is actually pretty close (especially considering that the outfit featured is what I generally wear down to the mark).

Oh, and just for comparison, here is a self portrait from approximately a year ago. I like to think that I've improved.

On a completely unrelated note, I am doing another comic (entitled "Icarus"; I trust that you all remember her) for a project. The style is very different from that which I have integrated into "Sakia: The Defender", in the fact that it is slightly more relistic and certainly more gritty (due to the fact that I colorize underneath the original pen sketches). I am debating posting these on Smack Jeeves as well, but until then, here are the first three pages. I will continue to post them on my deviantART page. Bye for now!

Angel of Music

Some stupid fan art that I made for "The Phantom of the Opera". The Phantom in this composition conforms to sort of a blend of that depicted in the musical and the original novel by Gaston Leroux. Both are brilliant, though I believe that I like the musical a little more.

I hate drawing hands...

Lin Laos - Queen of Hearts

Something that I made for a project. It was original a drawing that I colored with, well, colored pencils and pen. But, when I scanned it, I noticed that the colors were a little bright, so I darkened it. Then, I got to messing around with it, and I eventually stumbled upon a little trick that may come in handy in the future, if for nothing else, for my own entertainment; I discovered how to colorize the original pen drawing!!! I know, I know, but I was really excited... Anyways, here is the end product of my continued manipulation.

In all honesty, I sort of like the rough, gritty feel of it, seeing that it sort of matches this character's personality.

The original image.

Stuff

Hey guys! Sorry that I haven't posted anything lately; I recently set up a deviantART account, and have been uploading compositions there. My Page.

Anyways, here are a couple pictures that I have made since then:

Ronan and Raquin

Some of you may recognize Raquin Pierce from my comic, but this is my first time introducing his police partner, Ronan Natalia to you all (hint, hint: she may be in the next page). Yeah.

Oh, and I'm trying to transition to a slightly more proportionate style, so if certain characters (likely with the exception of Sakia) begin to seem, well, different in build, that's why.

The Great Magician, Takiremi

I was curious what he would look like in his little outfit, there.

Over the next few months, I'll be trying to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator and such. However, as of yet, I have nothing, but when I do I'll post some stuff. Yeah. Yeah...

Anyways, on a totally unrelated note, the following may perhaps be the most hilarious picture that I have ever seen! Just saying. I found it somewhere while surfing Google, but I can't remember where. In other words, I didn't make it, and please, don't make ninja's drop from my ceiling tiles and beat me up!

The sad part is that I could see my pugs, Vinnie and Tia (especially Vinnie), doing something like this if they were able. The look on its face perfectly captures how Vinnie looks when he jumps up on the couch and knows that he has gotten away with it.

New ID's

I'll likely be adding onto this post in the future; I'm just quickly uploading the one picture now so that I can try something with another site.

Valentina Model Edit

Hey y'all!

I felt that poor Valentina deserved a model edit; after all, the last picture Ihad of her was done when Ifirst started to really get into this whole cartooning thing, so it's pretty old. Here's the new model.

The old model.

Got the Earth on a String

This picture is very Invader Zim-esque, and sort of paints Sakia as the archetypal alien conquistador, which is essentially the exact opposite of her personality, but, whatever...

Sakia the Defender Collage Thing

Some collage thingy-ma-jigger that I made.

P.S: Today marks the 72nd birthday of the fictional character Walter Joseph Kovacs/Rorschach. Happy birthday Rorschach! Enjoy your beans and sugar cubes (a reference no one would understand unless they had read the novel Watchmen as well)!

Takiremi the Magician

Takir - con-artist/magician. I should totally design him a magician's costume! Perhaps another time...

I'm still in a Watchmen mood, and am continuing to work on my lighting and shading, so there you go, another gloomy nighttime city panorama!

Icarus Free Fall

Hello everyone! Perhaps you remember Icarus/Etha Fidalgo.

Anyways, this picture was Watchmen inspired. Also, I did this drawing in a different style than my own; I don't know what style this would be considered, but yeah, it deviates from what I generally do. I'm just going to shut up now and show you the picture...

Her hair isn't really purple and brown; it's just the lighting. This is her color scheme without any of the odd highlights:

Here are  a few songs which I associate with the picture. Of course, I discovered them all through the film adaptation of Watchmen. XD

"Pruitt Igoe"
Philip Glass
(Note: The theme starts about two minutes and thirty seconds in.)

"The Beginning is the End is the Beginning"
Smashing Pumpkins

"Just Look Around You"
Tyler Bates

Watchmen Fan Art

Yeah. If you can't tell already, I'm currently reading Watchmen and loving it.

I was especially proud of the smiley face and the blood; it's harder to draw than it looks.

1 Year Anniversary!!!

Hello again everyone! 366 (because of the Leap Year) days ago from today, I made my first blogpost on this site. Jeeze, I can't believe that it's already been one year of my insane ramblings and weird drawings! So, to celebrate the occasion, I put together this little video of all the pictures and stuff that I have posted (well, not quite all of them, there's been a lot). I tried to keep the pictures in the general order of which they were posted, starting with my sub-par beginning drawings, and ending with my better new drawings. Happy Anniversary, and enjoy the video!

The song used was "Undertow" by Warpaint.

And yes, I actually uploaded this from my YouTube account.

I think the transitions to one of my pictures of Yixillian was a heart... oops. I hit the wrong stupid button! Oh well...

The Pandora Project: Division Sicarius

Hi again everyone! Here's a little fact sheet that I made about shape shifting assassins! Have fun!

Transcript:

The Pandora Project: Division Sicarius

A branch of the ancient Pandora Project which is closely related with the Qi Government Genetic Research Facility. This obscure division is unknown by many, and for good reason; those who pry enough to find out about it don’t last long.
The branch was established so that Qi politicians could use legally “nonexistent” life forms to kill off their enemies and stay in power. Doctors in affiliation with the Genetic Research Facility would kidnap young members of similar “planted” species (species which have been grown on other planets by the Qi), most commonly human females, and manipulate their DNA; in doing so, they activate the ability of the subject(s) to turn on and off certain genes, therefore being able to shift between different forms. From then on, the subjects are abused and conditioned to survive harsh circumstances, creating the ideal psychopathic soldier, brainwashed to be loyal to their Qi masters.
The current leader of the Sicarius division of Project Pandora is Miranda Yakmaninov, a cold-hearted Human-Shape shifter hybrid. Current notable assassins affiliated with Division Sicarius are Yixillian Mare, Lin Laos, and Archibald Van Haggen. The most famous past member is arguably Sandrin Kit Prentice, a current lawyer on the planet of Wivalet (though many do not know of her history; she has done an excellent job covering it up).

Icarus Reach

Hi again everyone! Happy 1st of March!

This character's name is Etha Emeril Fidalgo, but she just goes by Icarus. As of yet, she has no relation to the world of Sakia the Defender.

By the way, I don't know what she is reaching for.

Oh, and I also don't know why my past four pictures I have posted here have all been left-side oriented... hmmm...

Robin

Because Carrie Kelley is the only Robin who doesn't annoy the crap out of me. XD

I've been in a Batman mood lately, what can I say?

Sakia, Sword Master

I don't know when Sakia began yielding swords, or wearing her hair back, for the matter.

Yixillian Plays With Guns

I have my friend Dote to thank for teaching me a few things about drawing cool shoes and guns.

Invader Zero

Invader Zero's back y'all! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA!!!!

Not bad for not having done anything Invader Zim style for over four months! Yes, there was pride smothered all over that statement. XD

Takiremi and Stacy

You may or may not recall Takiremi; I posted one picture of him before, if I remember correctly. I do not have a picture for a before and after comparison at this time (my USB drive is not currently with me and I am using someone else's computer right now), so, yeah.

This next character is a Qa real estate agent, Stacy Milone. Why can't aliens have real estate agents? XD

The Qi Fact Sheet

Please click the image to enlarge. I understand that doing this will probably not make it large enough to read, so you can also right click and open it in a separate tab (I believe that then you can magnify the image). I have provided a transcript below if this still does not make the text large enough to read.

TRANSCRIPT:

THE QI-A BRIEF HISTORY:

The Qi and the Qa Races evolved from a common ancester nearly one billion human years ago, on the planet which is now officially recognized as Qi. After many, many years of tedious developments and the building of a coexisting society, both races were able to achieve a Golden Age, during which many scientific discovering lead to the exploration of the Universe. One of the most important contributions of this Golden Age was the Pandora Project, and mysterious plan which still continues to the present.
The Pandora Project included/includes many areas of scientific and philosophical endeaver, including the development of separate Qi societies in isolation, institutes studying art, music, and religion, and many brutal experiments on the minds and bodies of both Qi and alien species (this includes a shady genetic research organization which operates through an alien black market; not many know about this, though, and those who do disappear quickly). However, the most prominent mission of the Pandora Project was the planting of civilizations on other planets, including the one which locals identify as "Earth".
After the centuries-long Golden Age, conflict began to arise between the Qi and the Qa races. After half a century of fierce battle and constant death, the Qi prevailed and the Qa went into hiding underground. Eventually, the Qa left the planet (which, after the conflict, was declared "Qi" after the victorious race) and colonized their own planet, appropriately named "Qa".
Proceeding the escape of the Qa, the Qi became an inverted and secretive society, not allowing visitors onto the planet or residents off without special authorization. The Pandora Project continued, thought little information was released to the public. Then, laws dictating the "ideal" appearance of the Qi race were released, at first gradually, but quickly it became a mad torrent of insane restrictions. Anyone who did not meet the physical requirements were deported from the planet and sent to space stations, foreign colonies, and more often, off-planet labor camps, where the "undesirables" or "outcasted" Qi were to work for the remainders of their lives in order to build to foundations of their home planet.
To the present, the Qi Government remains on of the most powerful organizations in the Universe. It is because of their power that the Qi have been able to continue their strange and secretive experiments. At current, no force has successfully challenged or overthrown the Qi Government, and any individual or organization that has attempted this feat have been quickly and quietly"disposed of".

FACTS ABOUT THE QI:

-Qi have more organs than humans
-Qi have thicker skin than humans
-Qi have a higher body temperature than humans
-Qi have luminescent eyes, and consequently, excellent night vision
-Qi can see everything in their field of vision at once due to the fact that they do not have pupils. If they desire to focus upon one particular object and disregard other objects in their field of view, they must physically narrow their eyes.
-Qi can be slightly taller than the average human, due to the weak gravitational pull of their planet
-Qi are very thin and angular
-Qi have long, claw-like hands which can normally grow back when treated with a special enzyme or chemical catalyst.
-Qi live longer than the average human
-Qi have thick, generally coarse hair
-When Qi are ill or tired, their eyes become dull and the color begins to fade away into a grayish shade
-Qi have the ability to transfer their consciousness between their physical bodies and their shadows, and, if necessary, they can take up permanent residence in their shadows manifestations.

QI GOVERNMENT PHYSICAL STANDARDS (FEMALE):

-Must be in the range of 5'10''-6'2''
-Must be in the range of 130-180 lb
-Must have eyes that are blue or a variation of blue
-Must have skin which is light purple, light pink, or similar to either shade
-Must have an IQ of 110+
-Cannot have any physical, mental, or emtional abnormalities (these will be ruled by a doctor in association with a court under the Qi Government)

__________________________________________________________________

I did NOT proofread any of the above, so I apologize for any gramatical errors.

The two Qi that you do not recognize are new characters. I do not know how much I will expand upon them, if at all, but I have provided their pictures below anyways.

This one's name is Arlana Colette. She is a Qi ambassador, and is jsut as corrupt as the rest of the Qi government officials.

Anna Marie CastaƱo. She's a Qi adventurer, wandering about the Universe and abiding by no one's rules. Yup. You may be wondering why she has a Spanish name. My answer... I haven't the slightest clue.

I did not draw any males on this fact sheet because a) I'm bad at drawing males, and b) I didn't feel like it.

Sakia Plays With Shadows

I had a couple hours to kill.

Yeah, sorry if it kind of turned out making her look like some alien diety...

And yes, those are shadows, NOT fire.

Yixillian "Corpse Bride"

Okay, this isn't exactly a character cosplay, so to say; I recently downloaded a few songs from Danny Elfman's fantastic score for the film "Corpse Bride", and of course, when you listen to it incessantly in the middle of the night, images of goth bridal gowns and despondent characters are going to dance maniacally through your head. So, yeah, Yixillian after an altercation at a wedding... for some reason, in my mind, I pictured it as her wedding (again, probably because I was listening to "Corpse Bride", not much of an explanation required there), but that really doesn't make much sense considering that she is 16 and is not in love with anyone (she would be likely to go insane and harm them even if she did [courtesy of her split personality]).

Anyways, I'm going to shut up now and let you all see the picture.

Again, backgrounds are not my specialty... I suppose that I should work on that.

P.S: I may be a little late with my next webcomic update; I only had enough time to make Monday's page so far, and unless I can hurry up and do it sometime tomorrow evening, it may not be up until around Friday.

Simona Romaccio Edit

Salutations everyone!

You may or may not recall Sakia's older sister, Simona Romaccio. Anyways, regardless of whether or not you remember, I have edited this character's template, being displeased with her previous one. So, yeah, tell me what you think.

The landscape that you see behind her is the daytime, yes daytime, landscape of the planet Qi. To prevent any confusion, I understand that in the first page of my webcomic, the night sky appears similar to this. The evening background that was present in the webcomic was not that of Qi, it was simply Earth at twilight. What can I say, I like purple night skies.

Simona's hair is shiny because it is thick and very smooth. Sakia, on the other hand, though she has thick hair (a characteristic of all Qi), it is very coarse and is dirty.

In all honesty, though, I simply wanted to make shiny hair. XD

The past model.
